Here we go again!

God sets the lonely in families, .......” Ps 68:5

Well, here we go again.... Round 2 adoption for the Weldon's.

Ever since Debby and I sat in the hotel in China with Charis, God has placed a desire to bring another one of His orphan children home. Some would say that we are crazy, and at times we have thought we are pretty crazy too. But, it is evident that God has placed that direction and desire in our hearts. Our journey to Charis was a complete miracle! We are beyond blessed to have our healthy, smiling and sassy 4 year old in our family!

When we returned home with Charis we automatically thought we would bring another little girl from China home. We had just been waiting for God to give us the “green light.” Earlier this year in my prayer time, God showed me that He already said, “Yes” and it was just a matter of rather I would be obedient and trust Him! We have started the process with America World again, but this time God has led us to Haiti. Our desire is to bring a little girl home around the same age as Charis.

As we begin this blog and our journey in bringing another orphan home to our family, it is only fitting to tell you why we chose the title of our blog. From the beginning with Charis we have always talked openly about her adoption. Adoption is a beautiful word in the Weldon home. Some mommy's carry their babies in their tummy, but Charis was born in our heart. Charis asked Debby the other day, if her sister in Haiti was in her heart now? She responded, "absolutely"!  Debby explained to Charis, "just as we had her in our heart until God said it was time to go to China and bring her home, it is the same with her sister in Haiti". We truly believe the day will come that we will get on a plane and fly to Haiti to bring a little girl home to be a forever Weldon.

As you are reading this, understand you read accurately! We have entered the adoption arena for round 2! I have to repeat that to myself as well at times. We watched how God used His people to bring Charis to her forever home as a Weldon and we know that God will bring this child into our home as well.

So where we are in this process? God has provided the first initial installment, which puts us now at the home study process. Currently to complete the next steps there is a need of $2,500 for the home study and $8,000 to get our information to Haiti. I know God has placed the heart of adoption in so many people and if you are reading this and sense God leading you to help there is an online giving fund set up with Lifepointe Community Church http://lifepointecommunity.com/#/welcome/adoption .

Although finances can be an obstacle, our family also needs a lot of prayer. The adoption journey is always stressful and an emotional roller coaster. As you spend time in prayer, please remember our family as we are trusting God to lead us through this process. As one of our good friends says, “God writes the best stories.”

Thank you for joining in this journey with us.
Chris, Debby and family
